Attorney Charles B. Judson Honored With Madeleine Thomas Award

Traverse City, Mich., November 22, 2011 – Charles B. Judson, a shareholder with the firm Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge, was presented the Madeleine Thomas Award by the Grand Traverse-Leelanau-Antrim Bar Association at its November 2011 meeting. This annual award was created in memory of local attorney Madeleine Thomas, and is given in recognition of exemplary contributions to the cultural, economic and social betterment of the region.

Chuck is a very active volunteer, having held elected offices and board of director positions in many community organizations as well as within the legal profession. In 2010, he served as the Chair of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the State Bar of Michigan and is a past President of the local Grand Traverse-Leelanau-Antrim Bar Association.

Chuck practices municipal and administrative law; mediation and alternative dispute resolution; bankruptcy and debt workouts; and business transactional work with an emphasis on real estate applications. He serves as outside general counsel for a number of institutional clients including non profits, municipalities, and businesses.
