Benjamin Hammond Elected Chair of Young Lawyers Section

Benjamin H. Hammond News PhotoGrand Rapids, Mich., May 10, 2007— The Young Lawyers Section of the Grand Rapids Bar Association has announced that Benjamin H. Hammond, of the law firm Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge, was elected chair of the executive board for 2007-2008.

Ben is an associate in Smith Haughey’s Grand Rapids office where he practices construction law, business and commercial litigation, and general civil litigation. He was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 2002 after receiving his Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law.

The Young Lawyers Section (YLS) provides networking and community service opportunities as well as continuing legal education to Grand Rapids’ emerging attorneys. Members must have less than five years of practice or be under 36 years old.
