Former City Attorney, Karrie Zeits, Joins Smith Haughey's Traverse City Office

Traverse City, Mich., November 21, 2011 — Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge is pleased to announce that Karrie A. Zeits has joined the firm as a shareholder in the firm’s Traverse City office. She will focus her practice on representing municipal clients in zoning, real estate, employment, and general public corporation law matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Karrie was the chief legal advisor to the City of Traverse City, including the City Commission, City Manager, and all city officers and employees. She also provided counsel for other governmental agencies such as the Downtown Development Authority and the City of Traverse City and Charter Township of Garfield Recreational Authority. She is a past president of the Women Lawyers Association and former member of the Board of Governors of the Grad Traverse-Leelanau-Antrim Bar Association. She is also a member of the Michigan Association of Municipal Attorneys.

Karrie received her bachelor's degree from Albion College and earned her Juris Doctor from Willamette University College of Law.
