Grand Rapids, Michigan, April 24, 2008 -- On April 24th, the Grand Rapids Office hosted eleven children of several attorneys and employees for "Take Your Child to Work Day". The annual event is an opportunity for children to learn more about their parent's career.
The day began with each child receiveing a summons to report for jury duty. Later, the jurors assembled to hear the case of Pop A. Bear, Mom A. Bear, and Babe E. Bear v. Gold E. Locks. The Bear and Locks families, along with the attorneys and judge were played by Smith Haughey staff and attorneys. After testimony and evidence was presented, the jury found that Gold E. Locks was guilty of bad manners. The day ended with a craft project that had the children decorating bags to donate to the Kids Food Basket for the program's sack suppers.
