James G. Black

For nearly 40 years, Jim has represented businesses and individuals in the areas of business, real estate, probate, and estate planning law. He currently serves as a respected advisor and counselor on issues such as:

  • Drafting legal documents
  • Formation of client companies
  • Service agreements, leases, buy-sell agreements
  • Corporate governance compliance, such as the review of corporate documentation
  • Mergers and acquisitions
  • Real estate transactions and negotiations
  • Business taxation

He holds a coveted AV peer rating by Martindale-Hubbell, Inc., the highest rating offered by this prestigious organization. In addition, he serves as General Counsel to the firm's Board of Directors.

A native of Grand Rapids, Jim is the father of two sons, James and Jeffrey, and a daughter, Jessica.
