Kathleen J. DeWildt serves as the Long Term Care/Nurse Consultant at Smith Haughey where she assists attorneys on long-term care, medical malpractice, dental malpractice, health law, and litigation matters. Prior to joining Smith Haughey, Kathleen served in both nursing and administrative positions at healthcare facilities. In joining Smith Haughey, she brought to the firm’s medical malpractice and health law practice groups her valuable experience in areas such as management, nurse education, and policy development specifically within the healthcare industry.
In her current position, she performs review and analysis of medical records, identification and retention of experts, witness interviews, and internet research of medical conditions and experts. For long-term care cases, she also assists with records review, informal deficiency dispute resolution staff education, and interpretation of regulations.
