For 10 years, Mark has successfully tried cases, settled disputes, and resolved issues for clients throughout Michigan. On a daily basis, he represents and defends law firms, lawyers, physicians, engineers, hospitals, and those in the construction industry against allegations of malpractice, malicious prosecution, negligence, ethical violations, conflicts of interest, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, or other professional liability matters.

Insurance companies and their insureds rely on Mark in matters involving automobile negligence and general liability. He also assists professionals and individuals who are faced with criminal investigations and charges brought by the government. His clients include those charged with white collar crimes such as fraud and embezzlement, computer crimes, drunk driving, assault, and vehicular manslaughter.

Mark is relied upon for his calm and insightful counsel and for handling sensitive matters with the utmost of care and confidentiality.

When he’s not practicing law, Mark enjoys spending time with his wife and their two daughters in the Rockford, Michigan area. He also enjoys outdoor activities and is an avid sports fan.

  • 2/1/2010
    Mark Gilchrist successfully represented his client, a family law attorney, who was sued regarding her activities at the underlying divorce trial. Due to Mark's efforts, the case was dismissed in its entirety via motion due to a lack of proximate cause between the alleged misconduct and the alleged injuries.
  • 10/1/2009
    Mark Gilchrist and Matt Wikander successfully represented a minor who was injured in an automobile accident. In a trial for damages, the jury awarded substantial damages to our client, to which the Court added interest and costs.
  • 7/1/2009
    Craig Neckers, Bill Henn, and Mark Gilchrist successfully represented our client, a divorce attorney, in a legal malpractice case that went before the Court of Appeals.
  • 4/1/2007
    Mark Gilchrist drafted and argued a motion for summary disposition in a legal malpractice case in Ingham County arising out of a property transaction. The court ruled there was insufficient causation between the allegations of malpractice and damages that the defendant’s conduct was protected by the attorney judgment rule.

    Mark Gilchrist drafted and Craig Neckers argued a motion for summary disposition in a legal malpractice case in Wexford County arising out of a divorce representation. The court determined the plaintiff was collaterally estopped from presenting her case to the jury because the claim could have been raised in a previous suit – which we also successfully defended.
