Even & Franks, PLLC To Join Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge, PC

Even & Franks is a business and commercial litigation firm that has served clients in the Muskegon and lakeshore communities since 1994. Effective October 2013, the attorneys of Even & Franks will join with and operate under the name Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge. This relationship will strengthen ties in the local area and provide additional resources to clients.

Attorneys Kevin B. Even, Eugene A. Franks, Kevin M. Huss and Thomas H. Andrews, Jr., and their dedicated office staff, will be joining Smith Haughey’s team. The Muskegon office contributes over 90 years of combined experience in business law, real estate, trusts, probate and estate planning, and taxation matters.

Kevin Even, a firm shareholder, practices commercial litigation. He has successfully handled cases in the Michigan Court of Appeals, Michigan Supreme Court, Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Kevin holds a B.B.A. from Eastern Michigan University, graduated valedictorian from the United States Air Force Officers Candidate School and earned his J.D., summa cum laude and valedictorian, from Michigan State University Law School.

Eugene Franks, a firm shareholder, practices business, real estate, exempt organization and taxation law. He serves clients in transactional work, entity maintenance and governance. Eugene holds a B.A. from the University of South Florida, a J.D., cum laude, from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and a LL.M., with honors, from the University of Florida.

Kevin Huss, an associate attorney and Muskegon native, focuses on matters that include estate planning, estate and trust administration, corporate law and litigation. Active in his community, he is involved with the Muskegon County Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan (Young Lawyers Section and Probate & Estate Planning Section) and the Lake Michigan Estate Planning Council. Kevin holds a B.A. in English Language & Literature from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law.

Thomas Andrews has over 30 years of experience and primarily handles corporate matters and general business litigation. He has clients along the lakeshore primarily in Muskegon and Leelanau County. Thomas holds a J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of North Dakota Law School.
