Founding Partner Bud Roegge Receives Justice Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award

Grand Rapids, Mich., October 20, 2016 — L. Roland “Bud” Roegge, an attorney and founding partner in Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge’s Grand Rapids office, has been selected to receive the Justice Foundation of West Michigan’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Justice Foundation, a subsidiary of the Grand Rapids Bar Association, works to “provide an opportunity to extend legal information and legal services to those members of the public who have least access to them,” providing members to serve the disadvantaged, educate the public, and improve the administration of justice throughout the community.
Created in 2013, the Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes individuals who, through their time, talent and resources, exemplify a commitment to the principles of improving the administration of justice, educating the public about core democratic values and promoting legal services to the disadvantaged.
In addition to being a well-respected and seasoned trial lawyer in the state of Michigan, Mr. Roegge is very active in the Grand Rapids community and has volunteered countless hours to the Justice Foundation of West Michigan, Legal Aid of West Michigan and Dégagé Ministries. He is a past recipient of the Grand Rapids Bar Association’s Donald R. Worsfold Distinguished Service Award; the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel’s Excellence in Defense Award; and NALS of West Michigan’s Legal Professional of the Year Award.
