Grand Rapids, Mich., December 19, 2012 — Jane C. Hofmeyer, an attorney and shareholder with Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge, was appointed to the Community Media Center’s Board of Directors.
The Community Media Center is a non-profit organization providing media services to the Greater Grand Rapids area including television channel GRTV, radio station WYCE-FM, and online news source The Rapidian. Additionally, the organization maintains community venues such as 100-year-old Wealthy Theatre, which was taken over by the Community Media Center. Jane’s term as a board member will end in June of 2015.
Jane is an experienced litigator and trial attorney who has handled thousands of cases before the Michigan Workers’ Compensation Agency and Court of Appeals. For 20 years, she has represented employers, insurers, and third-party claims administrators in the defense of workers’ compensation matters. During case assessment, Jane calls upon her deep reservoir of medical knowledge and comprehensive understanding of the industries she serves to help her clients determine whether settlement or trial will attain the most favorable outcome for the client.
