Two New Attorneys Join Smith Haughey’s Grand Rapids Office

Grand Rapids, Mich., June 19, 2013 — Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge is pleased to announce that two new attorneys have joined the firm’s Grand Rapids office.

Elizabeth Roberts VerHey

Elizabeth joins Smith Haughey’s litigation practice group as an of counsel attorney. Elizabeth brings more than twenty years’ experience in civil, criminal and family law appellate matters.

Previously, Elizabeth was employed by the Michigan Court of Appeals for many years, closely working with the judges as a research attorney. Elizabeth holds a B.A., magna cum laude, from Western Michigan University and a J.D., from the University of Notre Dame Law School. She is licensed to practice law in Michigan and admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.

Sheila E. Eddy

Sheila joins the firm’s business law practice group and focuses in the areas of trademark, copyright, trade secret, defamation, Internet, and business law, in both transactional and dispute resolution contexts. Her legal education and previous work experience has also afforded her significant experience in the areas of estates and trusts, education and municipal, and First Amendment law.

She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and holds a B.A., from Michigan State University, and a J.D., cum laude, from Michigan State University College of Law.
