Adam is an attorney in the firm's Grand Rapids office—but above all he is an advocate. The son of an educator, he learned the connection between clarity and persuasion at an early age. He now brings that understanding to bear on behalf of his clients throughout the State of Michigan.
Adam regularly appears before judges and juries in complex business and corporate litigation. He’s successfully litigated contract disputes, violations of fiduciary duty, cases dealing with proprietary information and trade secrets, and claims of fraud and misrepresentation. Adam's clients in this realm have included retailers, manufacturers, entrepreneurs, small and mid-market business owners, and large financial institutions.
In addition, Adam represents business owners of all sizes in many types of employment litigation. He has successfully defended lawsuits alleging, among other things, wrongful termination, the violation of a noncompete agreement, age discrimination, gender discrimination, and the failure to promote.
Whether the case is large or small, Adam prides himself on providing personalized service. His inventive, “outside-the-box” approach makes him a favorite of his clients, and oftentimes allows him to resolve a dispute before significant legal fees are incurred.
Adam’s passion for advocacy has also motivated him to take a leadership role in our community. He serves on several boards and committees, and volunteers his time on behalf of organizations that provide mentorship for underprivileged youth, including Upward Bound, a program that creates opportunities for low-income and potential first generation college students.
