Biography

Selection of counsel by a health care professional or a business owner in a complex dispute should be based on finding qualities of competence and experience in a person you trust.

Paul Van Oostenburg has over 35 years experience in successfully advising clients on how to avoid, resolve, and win disputes involving money, psychiatric injury, professional licensing, contract interpretation, and governmental regulation. Since 1982, he has focused his practice on litigating cases in state and federal courts on behalf of nursing homes, dentists, business owners, and individuals.

“It has been my experience that busy successful professionals appreciate an honest assessment of their problem by an aggressive litigator who is willing to listen without wasting time telling self aggrandizing war stories.”
— Paul Van Oostenburg

In addition to his trial experience, Paul has addressed professional and industry organizations on risk management, dispute resolution, and governmental regulation of healthcare providers.

Paul’s interests outside the legal profession include leadership work on behalf of civic organizations, basketball coaching, fiction writing, and Latin American travel.
