Ryne is an associate with Smith Haughey Rice and Roegge, practicing in Medical Malpractice Defense and Long-Term Care/Nursing Home Defense at the firm's Grand Rapids office. Prior to joining Smith Haughey, Ryne practiced extensively throughout Illinois, serving as counsel in matters involving medical malpractice and long-term care/nursing home defense. Ryne has successfully defended physicians, hospitals, nurses, nursing home facilities, long-term care facilities, adult foster homes, chiropractors, and other health care professionals, obtaining dismissal and summary judgment in a variety of matters before both the state and federal courts.

In addition to his medical malpractice and long-term care/nursing home defense experience, Ryne litigates and counsels clients in the areas of business, commercial, civil and employment law. Ryne graduated from the University of Iowa with an undergraduate degree in Business Studies and received his J.D. from Western Michigan Thomas M. Cooley Law School, with an emphasis in litigation.

Outside of the office, Ryne enjoys spending time with his wife, Arynn, their two children and their golden retriever. Ryne also enjoys playing hockey and golf, and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Cubs.
