Roegge Elected to Board of Directors of Degage Ministries

L. R. “Bud” Roegge Professional ImageGrand Rapids, Mich., June 12, 2008 - L. Roland "Bud" Roegge, a shareholder in the Grand Rapids office of Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge has been elected to the Board of Directors of Dégagé Ministries.

The mission of Dégagé Ministries is "to reflect the love of Christ to the poor and dispossessed in the Heartside neighborhood by providing a safe harbor where friendships are formed and community begins." The organization provides its patrons with a dining room which offers three meals a day at-cost; a Life Enrichment Center which provides services such as a mailing address, voice mail, referral service, hygiene services, a hair salon, personal care product distribution, locker rental, substance abuse support, group therapy, pet therapy, a music program, speakers, and a mentoring program; a health and fitness center; and a food pantry.

Mr. Roegge's law practice includes the representation of health care providers and attorneys in professional liability suits and business litigation which includes environmental matters, as well as tort and contractual matters. He also serves as a facilitative mediator. Throughout his career, he has been active in his industry and community and has received numerous awards, most recently the Grand Rapids Bar Association's Donald R. Worsfold Distinguished Service Award in 2006 and the NALS of West Michigan's Legal Professional of the Year Award in 2007.
