Smith Haughey's Diversity Committee Introduces New Intern
Grand Rapids, Mich., September 15, 2008 - Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge recently hired Catherine Khuu, a City High School student, as the latest intern to serve in the Diversity Committee's internship program.
Each semester, one high school student who has expressed an interest in pursuing a career in the legal professional is chosen by the Committee to fill the internship position at Smith Haughey. Throughout the semester, the intern gains experience and exposure in all areas of the law and firm operations. In addition, she is provided with an overview of all career opportunities within the legal profession.
Edward Lofton, the program's last participant, recently graduated from Creston High School and began his first semester at Grand Rapids Community College this fall, with plans to transfer to the University of Michigan.
