Smith Haughey's Diversity Committee Introduces New Intern
Grand Rapids, Mich., Mar. 18, 2009 -- Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge recently hired Mariana Guzman as the latest intern to serve in the internship program sponsored by the firm's Diversity Committee. Mariana is a junior at City High School in Grand Rapids. In addition to carrying a demanding academic schedule, Mariana serves on the Grand Rapids City Youth Commission.
Each semester, one high school student who has expressed an interest in pursuing a career in the legal profession is chosen by the firm's Diversity Committee to fill the internship position at Smith Haughey. Throughout the semester, the intern gains experience and exposure in all areas of the law and firm operations. In addition, she is provided with an overview of all career opportunities within the legal profession.
