Grand Rapids, Mich., Mar. 12, 2008 - Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge is pleased to announce that Calvin J. Sterk has joined the firm as Of Counsel in the Grand Rapids office. He will focus his practice on appellate litigation, primarily in the area of workers' compensation.
Calvin has spent the majority of his legal career working as a research attorney in the state and federal courts, most recently as a Commissioner of the Michigan Supreme Court and previously as a career law clerk to the Honorable Richard F. Suhrheinrich of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He now brings his vast experience in these appellate courts to Smith Haughey's appellate litigation department.
Calvin received a B.A. in Psychology from Calvin College, a M.T.S. in Theology from Harvard University, a B.D. in Theology from Calvin Theological Seminary, and a Juris Doctor from Wayne State University. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and admitted to practice in the federal courts for the Western District of Michigan and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
