Summer Associates Join Smith Haughey
Grand Rapids, Mich., May 30, 2008 - Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge is pleased to announced that three law school students have joined the firm's Grand Rapids office as Summer Associates. While at Smith Haughey, Candace Daunis, Mickey Larson, and Aliyah Sabree will have an opportunity to work on projects for multiple attorneys and practice areas and will also have opportunities to attend and observe hearings, lay and expert depositions, mediations, client meetings, and trials.
Candace Daunis is pursuing a Juris Doctor at Michigan State University College of Law with an expected graduation date of May 2009. Prior to attending MSU-CL, she attended Thomas M. Cooley School of Law where she was awarded Certificates of Merit in the areas of civil procedure, contracts, property, and torts; earned scholarships for superior scholastic achievement and highest first-term academic average; served as vice president of the Federalist Society, and was a Moot Court Competition semi-finalist. Candace holds a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Connecticut.
Mickey Larson is pursing a Juris Doctor at the University of Michigan Law School, where he is a member of the Child Advocacy Law Clinic, with an expected graduation date of May 2009. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, in political science from Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University.
Aliyah Sabree is pursuing a Juris Doctor with a concentration in Intellectual Property at Michigan State University College of Law with an expected graduation date of May 2010. She is a member of the Intellectual Property Law Society, Wolverine Student Bar Association/Black Law Student Association, and the MSU College of Law Diversity Committee. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Youngstown State University. Aliyah will be serving as a Summer Associate at Smith Haughey through the Grand Rapids/Floyd Skinner Bar Association Minority Clerkship Program.
