Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge is pleased to announce that attorney Danielle F. Susser has joined the firm's Ann Arbor office. She joins the Workers' Compensation Department and will focus her practice on representing employers in litigated workers' compensation cases. She will also assist employers and insurance companies in developing effective claims handling strategies.

Danielle comes to Smith Haughey after 25 years with DTE Energy in Detroit where she worked as an attorney in the Workers' Compensation and Employment Litigation Divisions. Danielle has extensive experience handling hundreds of contested cases throughout southeastern Michigan over her career. Her years in the field provide her with an understanding of the issues that are important to employers and allow her to resolve those issues quickly and cost effectively.

Danielle was born in France. She received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Detroit, School of Law. She is licensed to practice by the State Bar of Michigan and is admitted to practice before the United States Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Throughout her legal career, Danielle has actively participated in a number of professional organizations. She has been a member of the Board of Managers of the Michigan Self-Insurers Association for over 20 years and is currently serving as a member of the Chairperson's Council. She is actively involved with the Director's Advisory Council Workers' Compensation Agency Committee, and the Roy Westran Foundation Board of Directors. She sits as a Member of Tri-County Hearing Panel #3 of the Attorney Discipline Board.

Danielle is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, and the Oakland County Bar Association. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, weight training, jogging, book club, movie club, cooking club, and is a past Detroit Free Press marathon runner.
