Traverse City Attorney Joins Board of Directors of International Tennis Foundation

Kristen CampbellGrand Rapids, Mich., Nov. 13, 2009 - Kristen A. Campbell, an attorney in the Traverse City office of Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge, has been invited to join the Board of Directors of the Professional Tennis Registry Foundation.

The Professional Tennis Registry is "the largest global organization of tennis teachers and coaches" with members in 122 countries. Its membership is comprised of grassroots to top tour players and coaches. The Foundation's primary focus is to bring tennis instruction and equipment to inner cities and rural areas where the opportunity may not otherwise be available to them. Some of the charitable activities include the United States Tennis Association Schools Programs and National Junior Tennis Leagues, junior scholarships, seed grants to start community tennis programs and other worthwhile projects in America and throughout the World. The Foundation also sponsors the PTR Wheelchair Tennis Championships and the Special Olympics Tennis Championships.

"We are thrilled to add someone with Kristen's unique blend of skill sets and experience to our Board of Directors," said Scott Tharp, Chairman of the PTR Foundation Board. Other board members include Luciano Botti, Dr. Jim Loehr, John Powless, Michael Tomic, and Dennis Van der Meer.

PTR's Foundation is a cause that is near and dear to Kristen, as she was once a beneficiary. A former student of the Van der Meer World Class Tennis academy, Kristen was a nationally ranked junior and Big 10 conference scholarship tennis player. Among her other achievements, she was selected MVP her freshman year at the University of Iowa and still holds an individual school record for winning percentage.

Kristen focuses her legal practice on counselling business owners on issues such as corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and contract drafting and review. She also represents seriously injured individuals in litigation.
