Wright Joins Smith Haughey
Grand Rapids, Mich., June 5, 2007— After being recently accepted to the State Bar of Michigan and the U.S. District Court, Western District of Michigan, Tawanna D. Wright is joining Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge’s Grand Rapids office as an associate. She will practice general civil litigation at the firm.
Tawanna received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Illinois State University. She received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Thomas M. Cooley Law School where she participated in the Intra-School Moot Court Competition. Tawanna also served as senior editor of the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review, vice president of the Black Law Students Association and as a student magistrate.
Scholarships she was awarded include: Wolverine Bar Foundation Scholarship, Lansing Black Lawyer’s Association: Judge John W. Davis Scholarship and the Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
